Chelsea booked their spot in the FIFA Club World Cup final with a 2–0 victory over Fluminense at MetLife Stadium, showing composure and control from start to finish.
Chelsea set the tone early, maintaining territorial control and pressure in Fluminense’s third. Their midfield passed incisively, forcing Fluminense into defensive mistakes. Fluminense rarely threatened, and Chelsea’s possession dominance suffocated any attacking rhythm.

The breakthrough came just before halftime. A precise through ball sliced open the defense, allowing João Pedro to slot it past the keeper in the 18th minute. He would later be named Man of the Match, and viewers saw why: his movement and finishing were clinical.
In the second half, Chelsea mixed defense and attack expertly. Fluminense pressed to get back in it, García and his teammates tested the flanks, but Chelsea’s backline held firm. A second goal, from João Pedro again, came from a quick counter-attack, sealed the game, and extinguished any Fluminense hopes in the 56th minute.

Full credit to Chelsea’s coach (Enzo Maresca), whose plan was executed to perfection. Their next test: a showpiece final against PSG at the MetLife Stadium on July 13th. Fluminense’s fans left stunned: another Brazilian side knocked out, while Chelsea stay on course.
